Where to Place Your Keyword in a Title (and Why It Matters)
Keyword placement is one of the smallest tweaks with the largest impact on SEO clarity. Here's the rule I use on every post.
Search engines weight the first words in a title more heavily than the last. They're also what readers see first in search results, social previews, and browser tabs.
The rule: put your primary keyword in the first 5 words whenever it sounds natural. If forcing it makes the title clunky, rewrite the rest of the sentence — don't bury the keyword.
Example. Bad: 'Why Most People Fail at Email Marketing — A 2026 Guide.' Better: 'Email Marketing in 2026: Why Most People Fail (And How to Fix It).'
Both titles cover the same ground, but the second one signals relevance immediately to both Google and the reader.
